It is one thing for the United States to impose its Freedom Of Religion Act upon its own nation. However, what business is it of ours to try and impose the same constitutional act upon other nations, especially ones that are not founded upon democracy. Since when is it 'OK' for the United States to go about telling Communist and Military-run nations how they should impose their own laws on those nations? Granted that the treatment of people who do not follow the national-based religious laws within other nations is horrific, and, in the eyes of democracy-run countries, illegal; the aspect that the United States must bear in mind is the fact that these nations have been running their countries for hundreds, if not thousands of years in this manner... long before the US was even established. And, we must also remember that the US itself is no shining glory when it comes to imposing themselves on other people.
Take for example, the raw truth in the fact that the US was founded by slave owners... who wanted to be free. Think about that just a bit. Now think upon the fact that when we did come over to this nation and attempt to establish it, we found that there were people already living here. So what did we do? We slaughtered them for being "savages" and "barbaric", "unholy" and "unorthodox", then sent them into tiny little areas of land we called reservations to spend the remainder of their existance out... so long as they followed federal regulations. Then, we slapped a national constitution upon them, forcing them to uphold and obey those laws at all times. To top it all off, we also took away (until the past 25 years) their ability to maintain a revenue so that the people that live on these plots of land can actually educate their people and thrive as a community. Seems to me they were doing just fine and dandy without us beforehand. No, we had to come over here and impose ourselves upon them, and strip away all we could, just to "establish and prosper".
Reminds me of the joke about the scientist and God, where the scientist tells God that we don't need Him anymore because we now can do all that He has done in the past, including making a man from dirt. God then tells the scientist to show Him. So, the scientist picks up a clod of dirt, and God stops him and says, "No, get your own dirt. That's mine". Point in hand... let's get our own act together...before going about telling every other nation out there what they can and cannot do. Think about it... they've not made it as established nations for thousands of years by doing everything wrong.
