Happy? Merry? Neither?

We can't say "Merry Christmas" anymore? You mean to tell me that this nation has become so pansey that they are afraid to offend anyone that might have another religious preference....after all these years? What kind of rubbish is this? So those of us who celebrate Christmas, can no longer do so openly? We have to declare that we're celebrating a "holiday"?

My question now is, can other religions openly practice their holidays, except for the Christian sect? Do we have to have a 'secrety holiday' celebration in the privacy of our own homes, just to prevent any type of possible out-break of religious exclamation?! So I guess this also means that the age-old tradition of brining your children to get their picture taken with Santa Claus is now also going to be eliminated. And we can no longer buy 'Christmas' cards, they have to be 'holiday' cards (I feel sorry for the greeting card industry at this point). What about the US Postal Service? They are now expected to no longer carry 'Christmas' stamps, but rather winter scenery on holiday stamps?

This is nuts. Someone out there raised such a complaint about anything to do with God, that it's forced our nation to omit the original wording from many of our pledges, and even money. The 10 Commandments are no longer allowed to be displayed in, on, around, next to or in between any type of buildings at all, except your private homes, and if it's 'too showy', the neighbors might also complain and the city could ultimately tell you to take down the religious stuff. Yet...it's perfectly OK for the other religions to make public exclamation?!? What is that about? So I'm to understand that I can NOT place a Santa Claus on my front lawn, but the neighbors that are Jewish can place Menorahs in their windows!?!

Quite frankly, all this holiday stiffling nonsense makes me want to run out and buy the largest light up manger scene they make and place it, along with a grip load of brightly lit CHRISTMAS trees all over my front lawn, with loud blaring CHRISTMAS hymns and carols blaring out of a loud speaker....just to upset the whole thing. I also want to buy an Advent calendar that's the size of our home side, and open up each door everyday before Christmas...just to upset the political creeps who are stiffling one of the few blow out holidays that the bulk of US Americans celebrate, as well as around the world.

Muslims celebrate Meca, Jews celebrate Hannukah, African Americans celebrate Kwanzaa and Pagans celebrate Yule. WHY is it that Christians are being asked to not openly celebrate Christmas? Do these legislative morons not understand that in this country, we have freedom of speech and freedom of religious preference? It's in the very Constitution that the US judicial system upholds on a daily basis!! Now we're being told that "just so we don't upset anyone, we need to remove the christmas word from most of the christmas based items and keep that wording on a more privatized level of the industry"? No, sorry, I flat out do not, will not and can not agree with this even slightly. If the other religions don't like seeing "CHRISTMAS" anything, they need to either get with their own programs and advertise their holidays a bit better, or shut up about being offended. If they get offended that easily, maybe they need to move to a nation that celebrates their preferred holidays more openly.

My preferred solution is to EDUCATE everyone a bit more about the major holidays that are celebrated in December. This way we ALL know what to expect, and no one has the excuse of 'becomming offended'. If you're reading this article, you have internet access. It's not sitting there taking up space on the super information highway for nothing. Utilize it. Just go to www.google.com and type in "December Holidays". You'll be given 55,700,000 web pages, 20,800 images, 98,300 web groups, 7,820 news articles and 4,809 pages of shopping to go through. If that's not enough, start visiting the local religious houses of worship. Talk to all kinds of people on the streets. But please, stop with this "I'm offended" garbage. It's getting to sound like a whining 3 year old having a temper tantrum over not getting candy at the stores. Grow up people. Just accept everyone as they are. That truly cannot be that difficult. Oh, and by the way, MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
